Bill is Honorary Trustee for The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto.

Bill has been the Director of various companies and is still acting Director for Cogeco Cable Inc.

Eve was involved with the launch of the first Ronald McDonald House in Canada.

She left the business world and began focusing on philanthropy through personal/family donations as well as fundraising and volunteerism.

In 2003 Eve joined the United Way of Oakville as fundraiser, and in 2004 became Chair of the Committee.

Betty and her late husband Bruce have been supporters of the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years, having invested more than $4.5 million in capital projects and vital equipment needs. Through this support, the Oakville Hospital has been able to expand and update its surgical capacity, thereby accommodating Provincial wait time initiatives and enabling a broader range of non-invasive procedures in Orthopaedics, Otolaryngology and Gastroenterology.

The impact of the Birmingham’s support of excellence in healthcare for the people of this region and beyond is exceptional.

The late Bruce Birmingham and his wife Betty exemplify the true spirit of philanthropy. Bruce & Betty’s generosity has contributed to the fundraising success of numerous charities locally, regionally and nationally with support directed to healthcare, education, sports, arts and social services. Bruce’s wisdom will be instrumental for the legacy of the Oakville Hospital Foundation’s campaign and the hospital.  Together their leadership as volunteers inspires others to give of their time and expertise.

Perry is currently a Financial Centre manager with Sun Life Financial.

He holds designations in CLU (chartered life underwriting) and RHU (registered health underwriting).

Over the past many years Perry and Sun Life has been supporting the Oakville Hospital by donations to the Maternal Mother Wing, equipment as well as Sun Life has donated to the OTMH's eating disorder program.

Frank is a long standing Oakville resident and the former Managing Partner of Brascan Financial Corporation. Frank is a deeply committed supporter of the hospital and has been actively involved in the Foundation board since 2004.

Frank is currently the chair for the Oakville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and a member of the Volunteer Leadership Team for the new Oakville Hospital capital campaign.

Dr. Lorne William Martin has practiced Emergency Medicine at OTMH, and subsequently HHS, since 1983 when he moved to Oakville.

Dr. Martin is Physician Program Leader, Emergency and Ambulatory Care Program, at OTMH, a position he has held since 1992.

Dr. Martin is currently Chief of the Medical Staff at HHS.

He has been an acute care surveyor for the Canadian Council on Health Care Accreditation for the last 7 years, and has consulted to Clinidata Corporation for the Ontario Telehealth program.

Ed retired as President and CEO of Otis Canada, Inc. in 2004 after a thirty year career.

Since 2005, he has been a lecturer in “Strategic Management” at the DeGroote Graduate School of Business at McMaster University.

In 2004 he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from McMaster and in 2007 was named an Honorary Governor of McMaster, in recognition of his twelve years as a Board member, two as Chair.

A veteran of 30 years in the Canadian broadcasting industry.

In 1989, Pierre founded his own multimedia company, Pelmorex Media Inc.

In addition to his duties at Pelmorex, Pierre sits on the Advisory Boards for Environment Canada's Meteorological Service of Canada, the Richard Ivey School of Business and is a Council member for the latter’s Institute for Entrepreneurship.

John is President and CEO of Halton Healthcare Services, which includes the Georgetown Hospital, the Milton District Hospital and the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. 

John was Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

He is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of Shared Services West and a member of the Ontario Health Technology Advisory Committee.

John Paladino was born and raised in Oakville. He is a lawyer and his law office is located in Oakville.

John practices in the areas of real estate, corporate and business law, wills and estates.

John is Chairman of the Oakville Italian Invitational Golf Tournament that has raised money for OTMH and other charities for 29 years.

John is the COO of the HighView Financial Group.

John actively pursues both industry related and community based volunteer opportunities. Along with his involvement in the New Hospital Campaign.

He is also a Trustee of the Appleby College Foundation and the Treasurer of Knox Heritage Place.

Mags has been a board member since June 2003.

She was elected Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for Halton Healthcare Services for a two year term in June 2007.

Mags has been involved with St. Mildreds-Lightbourn School, Appleby College, the May Court Club of Oakville and Acclaim Health, formerly the VON.

Ruth Anne is a Member of the Board of Governors for Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital

Ruth also sits as a Member of Board of Governors at Appleby College.

Ruth has also signed on to be involved with the New Oakville Hospital Campaign as a Committee Member.

Neil Rau completed his undergraduate mathematics degree at the University of Waterloo, followed by medical school training at the University of Toronto from 1987 to 1991. Subsequently, he completed specialty training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at McGill University, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in infectious diseases in 1996.

In 2003, he assumed the position of Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control for Halton Healthcare Services and moved his practice there soon therafter. He has now assumed a new additional role of medical microbiologist for Halton Healthcare Services. He was also appointed as the medical coordinator for the Mississauga Halton Regional Infection Control Network in April 2008.

Kathy works alongside her husband Jack in their 30+ year old distribution company; Ener-gard, Canada’s first window film distributor.  They have been staunch supporters of the hospital for many years and Kathy is committed to giving back to the community through actively participating in fundraising for our new hospital.

Paul Barrington is the owner of Barrington’s Fine Outerwear in Downtown Oakville. Barrington’s has been a landmark in Oakville for 59 years.

Paul was born and raised in Oakville and is thrilled to be able to raise his family in the community he grew up in.

Barrington’s has been the co-lead sponsor with Murron’s Cabinetree for the Oakville Hospital’s Gala for the past four years.  Both companies have committed to co sponsoring the event again for 2009.

After graduating from Concordia University, Mr. Boyce worked for a variety of companies involving travel to London, England, and Milan, Italy. He returned to Canada to become President of Good Humor Breyers.

Mr. Boyce holds a Bachelor of Commerce. In 1996 he graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.

Mr. Boyce currently sits on St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation President’s Council and is on the Board of Directors of the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club.

Anita Boyce is a Chartered Accountant with a distinguished international career in public accounting, financial management and university and corporate learning in both a professional and volunteer capacity.

She was nominated for the Halton Woman of the Year Award in 2008 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the community, spanning 25 years.

She currently sits on the Board of The Darling Home for Kids and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel.

Mayor Rob Burton is passionate about the environment and has been since his university days when he earned his master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University.  His groundbreaking graduate thesis statistically linked the effects of air pollution to health and was presented at the United Nations’ international conference on the environment in Stockholm, Sweden.

Before running for public office, he had a successful career as a director and producer in journalism, film and television.

On November 13, 2006, Oakville residents chose Rob Burton as their new mayor with a mandate to make the Town the most liveable community in Canada.

He is also a member of the board of the Canadian Opera Company, The Canada-South Africa Children’s Hospital Trust and The St. Mildreds-Lightbourne School Foundation.

Gary Cook is President of Integra Capital Financial Corporation and has held that position since it was established in 1993.

Prior to joining Integra, and along with a group of associates, Mr. Cook acquired and managed companies in the service, communication and manufacturing fields.

He was first a resident of Oakville in 1974. He has been involved with community and charitable organizations and is presently on the board of the Oakville Hospital Foundation.

Wayne Fox retired from CIBC effective September 1, 2005. He was formerly vice chair and chief risk officer responsible for Treasury, Balance Sheet and Risk Management of CIBC.

Mr. Fox is chair of the Board of Directors of the TMX Group Inc., and formerly a member of a variety of Organizations including Appleby College, CanadaHelps.org Inc, and McMaster University.

He is also designated C.Dir. from McMaster University- The Directors College Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD)from McMaster University (2007). And he is also a member of the Accounting Standards Oversight Council (AcSOC).

Bruce joined the Royal Bank in 1968 where he spent his entire career before retiring in 1999 as Vice-Chairman.

During his career, he held senior executive positions in group wealth management, corporate and investment banking, treasury and trading.

Bruce is presently involved as both an investor and advisor with numerous emerging enterprises and serves as a board member with various educational and charitable organizations.

Mr. Jackson was Executive Vice President, Personal & Commercial Client Group at the Bank of Montreal.

His local, national and international activities include serving as the President of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada for two terms.

He is currently Chairman of the Community Foundation of Oakville.

Bonnie became immersed in the world of volunteering, first with the Parent’s Association connected to the Montreal Children’s Hospital, and then as a full-time volunteer with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Toronto.

In 1996 Bonnie launched a business as a Certified Wellness Educator for “Wellness Plus”.  She provided individual coaching programs and corporate/group seminars designed to energize and educate clients on the benefits of living a balanced and healthy life-style.

As well she holds a place on the Advisory Council for the New Oakville Hospital Campaign.

Mr. Lucas was appointed to his current role as President and Chief Executive Officer of GlaxoSmithKline in June 2000 and is currently responsible for all pharmaceutical operations in Canada.

In addition to his present responsibilities, He is also a current member of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Region Research Alliance, and a member of the Principal’s Advisory Council of the University of Toronto at Mississauga.

Mr. Lucas has a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) in Biology and Chemistry from Queen’s University.

As a volunteer Don served with the United Way of Oakville for over eight years, including chairing the1999 Campaign, and was Board Chair for four years.

He has also had the pleasure of supporting Community Living Oakville, Children’s Aid Foundation of Halton, Halton Family Services, and Canadian Music Competitions.

Since 2002 he has been involved with the Philip Aziz Centre, a GTA based hospice which provides care for individuals and families living with the challenges of HIV/AIDS and other illnesses.

John is the Chair of the Development Committee, ABMRF – Alcoholic Beverage Medical Research Foundation.

Among various awards John has attained he was awarded the Volunteer of the Year – Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, 2006.

Following appointment as a Foreign Service officer with Canada’s Department of Trade and Commerce in 1962, Mr. Wilson was Assistant Commercial Secretary at the Canadian Embassy in Vienna 1963-65 and Second Secretary in Tokyo 1967-68.

Mr. Wilson is an Officer of the Order of Canada, and is the recipient of honorary degrees from six Canadian universities.
