OHF Facts
Oakville is one of the fastest growing communities in Canada and the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital is a driving factor in the health of our community.

Did you know that:
  • OTMH is a full service acute care community hospital, serving a rapidly growing population in Oakville and Clarkson.
  • OTMH was recently rated in the top three of all community hospitals in the GTA, for patient satisfaction.
  • The Foundation strives to ensure Oakville residents have access to the highest quality healthcare services, which government funding alone can not provide.
  • OTMH traces its roots back to 1944, when a group of residents raised money to build a new hospital as it became evident that critically ill or injured patients would not survive the trip to Toronto.
  • In 2005, the Foundation was awarded Imagine Canada’s Ethical Fundraising License as an organization that meets the highest fundraising standards for accountability and openness.
  • In 2006-07, more than $0.80 from every dollar contributed to the Foundation was used to improve the Health of Our Community.
  • Last year, funds raised from community contributions helped to purchase more than $2.5 million worth of new medical equipment for OTMH.
  • Donating appreciated stocks is now the most tax-effective way to make a substantial gift to OTMH, during your lifetime or as part of a legacy gift.
  • When you make an online donation you receive a charitable tax receipt by email, resulting in reduced mailing and administrative costs, which means your contribution has a greater impact.
  • The Oak Leaf Society (Monthly Giving Program) is a convenient and efficient way to support your community Hospital, resulting in reduced mailing and administrative costs, which means your contribution has a greater impact.
  • The new Foundation DVD video was recently released.
